During that time in Birmingham God showed me we must march as the foot solders of that day marched. In May of 1963, 40 years ago, the nation's eyes were opened to the unjust laws of segregation. In the Bible, 40 can stand for a test or a generation. For 40 years our people are still wandering and have not passed the test. The Lord said to me, just as he did in 1963 he would once again do in 2003. The date then was May 3rd, he gave me May 2nd to have a "foot soldiers march and a Freedom Bus Ride in Birmingham.

I went to our National Director Johnny Hunter and local Pastor Arthur Johnson. I shared it with our National Spokesman Damon Owens. Pastor Hunter agreed! God also had instructed me to get the permit for Kelly Ingram Park before you go back to Jersey. I reasoned in my heart" Lord it’s 7 months away?" The permit we received previously was one month before the time. After fleshly reasoning ran its coarse, (the day before I left to go back to Jersey) the permit was secured and paid for. It’s good to just obey God and here’s why. In January I received a phone call from a radio station we are airing the "Urban Prophet" on in Birmingham. The call was about their new accounting system. I took that time to inquire about covering our May 2nd event live. Her response was, "we all ready know about your event and have received your brochures." Now this was shocking to me for I knew we had not distributed any brochures or contacted them. I said, "no ours is about honoring the foot soldiers of the 60’s civil rights movement." She said, "yes May 1st 2nd 3rd 4th." At this point I was totally flabbergasted. Convincing her that it was not our organization, she went on to say they were planning a four-day event. All civil rights leaders from the 60’s till now are asked to come to Birmingham. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Andrew Young and ECT. I nearly started shouting! Fox news, Cox radio, and other institutions were sponsoring the event.

I quickly got the number for the sponsor by calling a member of Pastor Johnson’s church, an original foot soldier. He gave me the number to call and said, "I have all ready told him about you." I called with the greatest of expectation and enthusiasm. I was quickly brought back to reality in discussion with the dear brother who only saw us as abortion protesters. "Those pro-life people". I was then told there would not be room for us. They plan to have it daily in different cites mainly at Kelly Ingram Park across the street from The Civil Rights museum. Our plans were perceived to be an intrusion of out of town pro-life fanatics trying to hoard in on their celebration. No, It’s the true Civil Rights leaders of today that have heard the clarion call to come to Birmingham. As you should remember God said get the permit before you go back to Jersey! Our plans were made well before. God foresaw this 4-day reunion before it was in the mind of the very people who would plan it! God strategically laid it upon my heart to secure the park. So the voices of those who cannot speak for themselves would be heard.

We will be right in the middle of this historic occasion. The media will hear our story. The Al Sharpton’s will know we are there! Jessie Jackson will know we are there! Black leadership of America will be confronted and served with a warrant! You have been silent too long and 13,000,000 million African American children are gone, There is blood on your hands. God has made it so there will be a one hour march and a four hour rally in Kelly Ingram Park on May 2nd. God made room for us because it was God who called the true civil rights leaders once again to Birmingham .Why did we hear the call? Because the pro-life movement is the true civil rights movement of today. Just as the foot solders changed the coarse of history and were facilitators of the flow of justice, the men and women who fight against the brutally levied against our children in the womb, are so today!
